John Barr’s Copper John is a mayfly attractor pattern that is wildly popular with anglers across the country. Biot tails, wraps of copper wire, a peacock wing case, and a drop of epoxy on the back is the recipe. There are many different color variations, red and chartreuse being very effective as well. This version is tied with a gold brass bead on a jig hook to make it ride point up.
